About Dr. Tracy Temmel, DPT
My 13 years as physical therapist had been spent practicing primarily in Solana Beach, CA, where movement was a way of life. As a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist, my main focus was on helping patients recover from overuse and sports injuries. I fell in love working with recreational athletes and active adults. I was inspired to provide services that extended beyond physical therapy for proactive clients wanting to maintain and improve their physical health. In order to better combine injury prevention and healing, I offered recovery bodywork, fitness training, and online programs unique to each client’s needs.
Today I bring that same vision to my home state of NY. My treatments are a unique blend of hands-on therapy and exercise coaching that incorporates healing, prevention and performance training. I use a mix of techniques to release tension, and facilitate optimal muscle function. Treatments may incorporate any combination of myofascial release, joint mobilization, and craniosacral techniques. I believe that movement is medicine. My patients receive guided instruction on exercise, and a plan that is designed for their lifestyle.
When not in the clinic, I am educating upcoming doctor of physical therapy students at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, San Marcos, CA. My personal fitness interests are varied, and I am enjoying all that the Hudson Valley offers. You may find me on the trails, biking, and in your local yoga or pilates studio.
