Objectives
  • Teach external rotation from the center of the body— initiating from the deep rotators and powerhouse rather than simply turning the legs out—so the movement is organized, supported, and integrated.

  • Create length through the spine by encouraging axial elongation, allowing the trunk to stay lifted, spacious, and aligned as the legs work.

  • Develop the strength, mobility, and coordination needed for exercises like Crab on the Mat by training controlled spinal flexion, deep abdominal support, and fluid hip movement.

  • Use the abdominals to maintain a clear connection of the low back to the barrel as the legs move away from the body, reinforcing deep core support.

  • Focus on breathing to synchronize the movement.
