Elbow Extensors
Triceps Brachii, Anconeus
Extends the elbow to straighten the arm up on the diagonal.
Resists the springs as the elbow bends back to start.

Other Muscles at Play
Spinal lateral flexors keep the spine stabilized in lateral flexion.
Anterior spinal stabilizers co-contract with the hip extensors to stabilize the lumbo-pelvic region.
Anterior & posterior spinal stabilizers keep the spine supported and stable in neutral.
Shoulder horizontal abductors keep the upper arm and elbow lifted to the side and up on the diagonal.
Scapular depressors keep the shoulder down away from the ear.
Objectives
Strengthen the elbow extensors as the upper arm, shoulder and trunk are stabilized in lateral flexion.
Enhance trunk and scapular stability while extending the arm at the elbow.
Enhance the control and strength of the core while in lateral flexion on the moving carriage.
Using the obliques to stabilize the body in a side bend position.
Challenge lumbo-pelvic stabilization by performing the exercise in a kneeling position.
Focus on breathing to synchronize the movement.
