Chest Lift

Plane of Motion

Sagittal

Muscle Focus

Spinal Flexors

Rectus Abdominis, Internal Oblique, External Oblique

Objectives
  • Build spine‐flexor strength to support controlled curling and maintain organized flexion.

  • Use spinal flexion to perform the movement, allowing the pelvis to remain still and anchored while the spine articulates with precision.

  • Develop the connection between the scapular stabilizers and the abdominals to support proper flexion mechanics, allowing the spine to round without shifting tension into the neck.

  • Increase pelvic stability by engaging the deep core with the breath, creating a steady foundation for the movement.

  • Stabilize the shoulder girdle so the upper body moves as one integrated piece rather than collapsing or shifting.

  • Focus on breathing to synchronize the movement.
