Objectives
  • Foot placement mirrors the setup used on the reformer, with the added demand of maintaining an upright seated position.

  • The movement sequence challenges trunk stability through coordinated activation of the abdominals and spinal extensors while engaging both the hip flexors and extensors.

  • It strengthens the musculature responsible for supporting and extending the knees and hips.

  • It promotes mobility through the hips, knees, and ankles. It develops leg strength and control, particularly in the reduced range of motion available on the chair compare to the reformer.

  • It refines alignment of the feet, ankles, knees, and hips to support better posture and reduce injury risk.

  • Focus on breathing to synchronize the movement.
